gran où lée is a musical solo project, founded in 2000 by me, Daniel Knef.

2007

Contributed the field recording “At the Stairway by Afternoon” for “A Private Shade of Green” — a split compilation by Privatelektro and Gruenrekorder (seven artists of each label)
Designed the second editions for “Weiß” and “Fragment, Compress”

2006

Remixed a track by Patty Stucki in conjunction with a remix contest (original track & reinterpretation by gran où lée)
Visually accompanied a sound performance by Lasse-Marc Riek; taking place at church “St. Bonifaz” (Mainz) in the course of “Tatort Festival”
Contributed a track to “Recorded in the Field by…” — a field recording compilation released by Gruenrekorder
Humming on a track of Lasse-Marc Riek’s “Mozart Greatest Hits — Recycled 01–12” — a cd-r limited to 12 copies (each containing one of twelve tracks), made available at the finnisage of exhibition “Greatest Hits”
Released mp3 remix compilation “Chemtrails” and contributed one track
Contributed samples for the record “Rot” by Giesela, released by fieldmuzick
Live set at “Kulturtage Ehrenbreitstein” (Koblenz) accompanied by an exhibition of selected words and photos from “Erdanziehung” (internet project by Florian Koller; temporarily not available) and the release of “Ehrenbreitstein Field Recordings” CD-R edition (limited to 9 copies)
Short live set at exhibition “KunstZwerg” (KUZ, Mainz)
Contributed two tracks for the Gruenrekorder audio project “An Acoustic Tribute to Bear Bruno” and created the artwork
Created the artwork (except front cover by Sandy Spreitz) for the Gruenrekorder release “Fragment, Compress” by Mystified
Created the artwork for the CD album “Andromeda” by Patty Stucki
Contributed the track “Klippenkeks (Study for a Live Set)” to “Gruenrekorder AudioArt Compilation 03”

Solo live set at third “Gruenrekorder Sound Art Festival” (Gallustheater, Frankfurt)
Solo live set at “Grande Massife Open Air” (Koblenz)
Gig at “Treehouse New Music Festival” at club CURMBOX (Frankfurt) visually accompanied by macksign
Contributed three tracks to “AudioArt Compilation 02” released by Gruenrekorder [Preview track: 15]
Doing a five minutes sound performance for the closing of club CURMBOX (Frankfurt) and opening of exhibition “macloop No.2”
Created the artwork for the Gruenrekorder album “Weiß” by Giesela
